На церемонията по откриването присъства и заместник-кметът по култура и туризъм на община Пловдив, Амелия Гешева.  Специално внимание, пpeмиepът обърна на щанда на Пловдив, като не пропусна да изкаже подкрепата си за града като Европейска столица на културата през 2019. 

Щандът на Пловдив се радваше на голяма посещаемост през всички дни на изложението, а представителите на Общинско предприятие "Туризъм"- Пловдив осъществиха многобройни контакти с туроператори и представители на бранша от България и чужбина, които проявиха интерес към предстоящата Международна среща по туризъм (4-7 октомври 2017). Засилен интерес към дестинация Пловдив имаше и от страна на представители на национални и регионални електронни сайтове, регионални телевизии и печатни издания.
