Официалното откриване на най-големия литературен фестивал в България „Пловдив чете“ е на 13 юни (понеделник), от 20:00 ч. на Античния театър. По традиция на откриващото събитие ще бъдат връчени наградите „Орфеев венец“ за най-изявен поет през изминалата година, както и „Златна четка“ за най-добро художествено оформление на книга. Публиката ще може да се наслади и на музикалния спектакъл „Приказката“ – концерт на група P.I.F., със специалното участие на Владимир Михайлов (вокал), Ерсин Мустафов (вокал), Иван Велков (китара), Мартин Профиров (барабани), Христо Михалков (бас китара) и Поли Герасимова (мултимедия).

Преди това на същия ден от 17:00 ч. в Къща музей „Христо Г. Данов“ ще се проведе традиционното връчване на Националните литературни награди „Христо Г. Данов“, организирано от Министерството на културата и Община Пловдив.

Най-богатите на литературни събития дни ще бъдат от 6 до 22 юни 2022 г.

Срещи с писатели, преводачи, художници, четения и творчески срещи, премиери на нови книги, дискусии, изложби, концерти, арт работилници и рецитали ще оживят Пловдив по време на фестивала. Премиери на своите най-нови книги ще имат такива знакови за българската литература имена като Здравка Евтимова, Иван Станков, Чавдар Ценов, Йордан Славейков, Маргарита Петкова и Добромир Банев, Костадин Костадинов, Атанас Капралов, Антония Апостолова, Йоанна Елми, Антон Баев, Радослав Бимбалов, Светлозар Желев, Валентин Дишев, Нейко Дамянов, Кирил Василев, Владислав Христов, Поли Муканова, Виктория Бешлийска, Димана Йорданова, Хюсеин Мевсим, Гергина Кръстева и мн. др.

По традиция ще се включат и множество чуждестранни автори. Ще гостува румънският писател Богдан Станеску, който ще говори за читателските вкусове и издателските политики. Ще бъде представен романът на италианският писател Джовани Додзини „И Бабукар водеше колоната“ (носител на Наградата за литература на Европейския съюз 2019).  Чуждестранни гости с техни книги на „Пловдив чете“ през 2022 г. са и украинските писателки Евгения Белорусец с романа й „Щастливи падения“ и Гаска Шиян с книгата й „Зад гърба“. Чешкият център в София ще представи романа на чешкия писател Михал Сикора „Пет мъртви кучета“.

В рамките на фестивала ще се проведе среща - разговор с екипа от Грузия и лично с Ниня Мачарашвили, директор на екипа, работил по организацията на международния проект „Тбилиси – световна столица на книгата 2021“.

Децата също не са забравени. За тях ще има специални представяния на детски книги. Писателката Петя Кокудева ще представи на най-малките най-новата си книга „Иху-биху-измислячус“, а малките читатели ще могат да се докоснат до множество детски книги на платформата „Книгоходец” и на издателство „Точица“.

Ще се състои традиционното от няколко години връчване на наградите „Читател на годината от 5 до 105“ на Народна библиотека „Иван Вазов“.

Тази година шатрите на близо 50 български издателства, включени в пловдивската Алея на книгата, ще бъдат разположени на площад Централен.
